Explore Nigerian Cities, Discover Places to Stay

Nigeria is a country of many different environments, cultures, languages, foods and ways of life. Traveling from one part of the country to another can sometimes feel like entering a completely different environment.

That is one of the things I enjoy most about traveling.

I started traveling when I was about 18. One of my earliest experiences was traveling alone to Imo State. My mother was not comfortable with me traveling on my own, but I had already decided that I wanted to see more of Nigeria, meet people from different backgrounds and learn how people live in different parts of the country.

Those journeys gradually changed the way I think about travel.

I became interested not only in where I was going, but also in where I would stay, how easy it would be to move around, what was available nearby, what people ate, the environment around me and the practical things that could make a journey easier or more difficult.

That experience is part of the reason GreenLink.com.ng exists.

What Is GreenLink?

GreenLink.com.ng is an independent hotel discovery platform.

We help travelers discover and compare accommodation options based on their needs, preferences and budget.

GreenLink does not own, operate or manage the hotels featured on our platform.

Our role is to provide useful information that helps travelers research destinations and accommodation before making their own decisions.

Our website brings together three main areas:

  • Hotel Guides — practical information about choosing and booking accommodation.

  • Travel Resources — information to help travelers prepare for journeys around Nigeria.

  • Hotels & Accommodation — accommodation discovery and hotel information.

  • Our Cities — destination-focused information connecting travelers with accommodation and relevant travel resources.

Why We Created Our Cities Section

When traveling to a place you have never visited before, finding accommodation is only one part of the decision.

You may also want to understand:

  • Where the accommodation is located

  • How close it is to the places you need to visit

  • What facilities are available

  • How you can move around the area

  • What food options are nearby

  • Whether parking is available

  • Whether internet and mobile connectivity are important for your trip

  • What type of accommodation may suit your needs

  • What you should confirm before making a booking

These practical questions are especially important when traveling to an unfamiliar city.

Our Cities section is designed to bring relevant destination and accommodation information together so that travelers can start their research in one place.

What You Can Find on Our City Pages

The information available will depend on the city and the research we have completed.

Where appropriate, a GreenLink city page may include:

  • An overview of the destination

  • Accommodation options

  • Hotel and accommodation guides

  • Areas where travelers may consider staying

  • Practical accommodation considerations

  • Nearby places and attractions

  • Transportation considerations

  • Food and dining considerations

  • Hotel facilities and services

  • Links to individual hotel pages

  • Links to relevant GreenLink travel resources

  • Firsthand observations where Godwin has genuinely experienced the destination

  • Information researched from reliable sources

  • Information supplied by accommodation providers where applicable

We do not create city pages simply by changing a city name in the same article.

A city deserves its own GreenLink page when we can provide information that is useful and relevant to someone actually considering a visit.

My Experience Traveling Around Nigeria

My interest in Nigerian cities comes from wanting to experience Nigeria for myself.

When I was younger, I told my mother that once I turned 18, I wanted to start traveling around Nigeria. I wanted to see different places, meet different people and learn about cultures beyond the environment I already knew.

One of the things I enjoy most about traveling is the change of environment.

I enjoy seeing different views, tasting different foods, hearing different languages and meeting people who do not know my background. Traveling gives me the opportunity to learn from people and discover opportunities that I might not encounter if I stayed in one place.

At the same time, traveling has shown me that there is another side to exploring Nigeria.

Road conditions can make journeys difficult. Delays can happen. Travelers can encounter stressful situations on the road, and unexpected problems can change the way a trip unfolds.

Those experiences have made me more interested in the practical side of travel.

When I think about a destination now, I don’t only ask, “What is there to see?”

I also ask:

“Where will I stay?”

“How will I get around?”

“What do I need to prepare before I leave?”

“What could make this journey easier?”

Those are the kinds of practical questions GreenLink aims to help travelers answer.

My Connection to Bayelsa State

Bayelsa has a particularly important place in the GreenLink story.

I am from Nembe Local Government Area in Bayelsa State, with family roots in Okoroma and Sangakubu, and I currently live in Bayelsa State.

My connection to Bayelsa gives me personal familiarity with the environment and local life.

However, GreenLink will not automatically describe every piece of information about Bayelsa as firsthand knowledge.

There is an important difference between having a connection to a place and personally experiencing every hotel, road, business or attraction within it.

Where I have personally experienced something, I will describe it as my experience.

Where information needs current verification, GreenLink will research it and, where appropriate, identify the source.

That distinction is part of how we want to maintain trust with our readers.

How We Use Firsthand Experience

Firsthand experience is valuable, but it should be represented honestly.

If I have personally traveled to a city, stayed at a hotel or experienced a particular part of a journey, I may share what I actually observed.

For example, I can explain what I personally noticed about:

  • The environment

  • Food

  • Culture

  • Language

  • Transportation

  • Accommodation

  • Road conditions

  • Practical travel challenges

  • Things that made a journey easier or more difficult

But I will not present one personal experience as if it represents the experience of every traveler.

For example, if I personally had a difficult experience on one road, that does not mean every traveler will have the same experience.

Likewise, if I enjoyed a particular hotel, that does not automatically mean it is the right hotel for everyone.

The purpose of sharing firsthand experience is to give readers an authentic perspective while allowing them to make their own decisions.

How We Handle Information We Have Not Personally Experienced

Not every GreenLink city or hotel will have been personally visited by me.

We will not pretend otherwise.

When GreenLink publishes information that is not based on firsthand experience, we may rely on appropriate research and available sources, including information from:

  • Official accommodation websites

  • Accommodation providers

  • Publicly available information

  • Relevant official or authoritative sources

  • Direct communication where appropriate

  • GreenLink’s own research

When a claim is important to a traveler’s decision, we aim to make its basis clear and encourage travelers to confirm information that may have changed.

This approach helps us avoid presenting researched information as personal experience.

Hotel Information on GreenLink

GreenLink is not a hotel owner or hotel operator.

The hotels and accommodation providers featured on our platform are independent businesses.

Information about an accommodation may include details such as:

  • Location

  • Accommodation type

  • Facilities

  • Room information

  • Dining

  • Parking

  • Internet access

  • Contact information

  • Nearby locations

  • Booking information

However, these details can change.

A hotel may change its facilities, prices, policies, contact information, operating arrangements or availability.

For that reason, travelers should confirm important information directly with the accommodation provider before making a reservation or payment.

We Do Not Treat Hotel Information as Personal Experience

This distinction is important.

If a hotel tells GreenLink that it provides Wi-Fi, that is different from GreenLink personally testing the hotel’s Wi-Fi.

If a hotel provides photographs, those photographs are not the same thing as a GreenLink firsthand hotel inspection.

If a hotel tells us that a particular facility is available, we should identify that information appropriately rather than presenting it as something we personally experienced.

We believe being clear about these differences is more useful to travelers than making every hotel page sound like a personal review.

What Travelers Should Consider When Choosing Accommodation

Travelers have different needs.

A business traveler may prioritize location and internet access.

A family may have different accommodation requirements.

A traveler visiting alone may care about different practical considerations.

Someone traveling for a short visit may have different priorities from someone staying for several weeks.

When exploring accommodation through GreenLink, consider questions such as:

Where is the accommodation located?

Think about where you actually need to go during your trip.

A hotel that looks attractive may not be practical if it is far from your main destination or difficult to reach.

What facilities do you actually need?

Don’t assume that every accommodation provides the same facilities.

If something is important to your trip, confirm it before booking.

What is the surrounding environment like?

The area around accommodation can affect your overall experience.

Consider what is nearby and whether the location works for your plans.

How will you get around?

Think about transportation before choosing accommodation.

A convenient location may save time and reduce unnecessary travel during your stay.

Does the accommodation fit your budget?

The cheapest option is not automatically the most suitable option.

Likewise, a more expensive hotel is not automatically the right choice.

The useful question is whether the accommodation provides what you actually need at a cost that fits your circumstances.

Cities We Cover

GreenLink’s city coverage will develop gradually.

Our accommodation and travel coverage may include cities and destinations across states such as:

  • Bayelsa State

  • Rivers State

  • Delta State

  • Edo State

  • Imo State

  • Akwa Ibom State

  • Cross River State

  • Anambra State

  • Enugu State

  • Lagos State

  • Ogun State

  • Oyo State

  • The Federal Capital Territory

  • Other Nigerian states and cities as GreenLink expands

This list is not intended to suggest that GreenLink currently has the same level of coverage or firsthand experience in every location.

Our coverage will grow as we research destinations, develop accommodation pages and gather useful information.

Building City Pages With a Purpose

We do not want GreenLink to become a collection of pages created simply because a city name has search demand.

A useful city page should help answer real questions.

For example:

Where can I stay?

What should I consider before choosing accommodation?

What areas might be practical for my trip?

What should I confirm before booking?

What travel resources are available for this destination?

What firsthand experiences does GreenLink have here?

Which information comes from research rather than personal experience?

If we cannot provide enough useful information about a destination, we would rather expand the page later than publish a thin page simply to increase the number of URLs on the website.

Keeping Our City Information Current

Travel and accommodation information can change.

A hotel can change its facilities.

A business can move.

A phone number can change.

A road or transportation situation can change.

A hotel can stop offering a particular service.

For information that can become outdated, GreenLink aims to review and update pages when appropriate.

Where useful, pages may display a published date or last-updated/reviewed date.

Changing a date alone does not mean that an article has been meaningfully updated. When GreenLink updates an important page, the aim is to review the information and make substantive corrections or additions where necessary.

Readers can also contact us when they identify information that appears to be incorrect or outdated.

If You Find Incorrect Information

We want GreenLink readers to be able to tell us when something needs attention.

If you notice an incorrect hotel detail, outdated contact information, inaccurate location information or another factual problem on a GreenLink page, please contact us.

We will review the information and make an appropriate correction when the evidence supports it.

Our Editorial Approach

GreenLink’s city content follows the same principles as the rest of our website.

We aim to:

  • Use real firsthand experiences honestly

  • Identify the author of our content

  • Research information that we have not personally experienced

  • Attribute important information where appropriate

  • Avoid presenting hotel-provided information as independent firsthand observations

  • Correct factual errors when identified

  • Avoid creating pages solely to manipulate search visibility

  • Provide useful information before commercial considerations

  • Be transparent about GreenLink’s role as an independent hotel discovery platform

Our Editorial/Content Policy provides more information about how we approach publishing.

GreenLink Does Not Choose for You

Our purpose is not to tell every traveler which city or hotel they should choose.

Travel decisions depend on personal circumstances.

Your budget may be different from another person’s.

Your destination may be different.

Your reason for traveling may be different.

Your accommodation requirements may be different.

GreenLink’s job is to give you useful information so that you can make a better-informed decision for yourself.

Explore Our Cities

As GreenLink grows, our city pages will become a central way to explore Nigerian destinations and the accommodation available in them.

From Bayelsa and the Niger Delta to major cities and other destinations across Nigeria, our aim is to connect destination information with practical accommodation discovery.

You can use GreenLink to:

Explore cities → Understand your accommodation options → Read practical travel guides → Compare relevant choices → Confirm important details → Make your own decision.

A Note From Godwin Samuel

Traveling changed my understanding of Nigeria.

When I first started traveling, I wanted to see new places. I wanted to experience different environments, eat different foods, hear different languages and meet people from different parts of the country.

Over time, I realized that traveling is also about learning how to prepare.

A beautiful destination does not remove the need to think about accommodation.

A good hotel does not necessarily make sense if it is far from where you need to go.

A low price does not automatically mean good value.

And information found online should not always be accepted without checking whether it is still current.

Those lessons continue to influence how I think about GreenLink.

I want GreenLink to help travelers explore Nigeria with practical information they can understand and use.

Most importantly, I want the platform to be honest about what we know, how we know it and what travelers should confirm for themselves.

That is the standard I want GreenLink to maintain as it grows.
