Our Commitment to Transparency

Welcome to GreenLink.com.ng.

GreenLink is an independent Nigerian travel and information website founded and published by Godwin Samuel.

I created GreenLink from something that has been part of my life for many years: traveling around Nigeria, seeing different places, meeting people, experiencing different cultures and learning how people live in different parts of the country.

As GreenLink grows, the website may earn money through advertising, partnerships, sponsorships, affiliate relationships and other legitimate commercial activities.

I believe readers should know when a commercial relationship exists.

At the same time, earning revenue does not mean that every hotel, destination, product or service mentioned on GreenLink is automatically recommended or endorsed by me.

This page explains how GreenLink handles advertising and commercial relationships and how we aim to keep them separate from genuine firsthand travel experiences and editorial information.

Who Publishes GreenLink?

GreenLink.com.ng is published by Godwin Samuel, a Nigerian travel publisher and businessman based in Bayelsa State.

I started traveling when I was around 18 years old.

One of my early experiences was traveling to Imo State. I enjoyed being away from the environment I already knew and discovering how different people lived.

Before that, my mother did not want me to travel alone. I told her that when I became 18, I wanted to start traveling around Nigeria and learning from different people and cultures.

That desire eventually became one of the reasons I started GreenLink.

Over the years, I have traveled to many Nigerian states, including Bayelsa, Delta, Imo, Abia, Lagos, the Federal Capital Territory, Rivers, Anambra, Edo, Kogi, Oyo, Sokoto, Akwa Ibom, Ogun, Enugu, Plateau, Bauchi, Yobe and Kwara.

Traveling has taught me to pay attention to practical details.

When I arrive at a hotel, for example, I don’t only look at how the building appears in photographs.

I pay attention to things that affect an actual stay, including the surrounding environment, parking, vehicle safety, cleanliness, food, water, Wi-Fi and mobile network availability.

Those observations are personal experiences when I have actually experienced them.

They should not be confused with information supplied by a hotel or another business.

Why GreenLink Accepts Advertising

GreenLink requires resources to operate.

Advertising and commercial partnerships may help support:

  • Website hosting.
  • Website maintenance.
  • Content production.
  • Photography.
  • Travel research.
  • Travel-related expenses.
  • Publishing tools.
  • Website development.
  • Other legitimate operating expenses.

Commercial revenue helps make it possible to continue publishing useful travel information.

However, commercial relationships do not automatically determine what GreenLink says about a business.

Our Editorial and Commercial Separation

One of the most important principles behind GreenLink is the difference between commercial promotion and editorial experience.

For example, if a hotel purchases an advertisement on GreenLink, that advertisement does not mean that I personally stayed at the hotel.

Likewise, if a hotel provides complimentary accommodation, I should not describe the stay as something I paid for myself.

If I have not personally experienced a service, I should not write as though I did.

This distinction is important because travelers deserve to know where information comes from.

GreenLink therefore aims to distinguish between:

Firsthand experience

Information personally experienced by Godwin Samuel or another clearly identified contributor.

Research-based information

Information gathered from reliable sources and presented as research rather than personal experience.

Business-provided information

Information supplied by a hotel, tourism organization, business or other interested party.

Opinion

A clearly identified personal assessment or interpretation.

Sponsored content

Content created or published as part of a commercial arrangement.

Advertising

Paid promotional placement that is separate from ordinary editorial content.

How My Firsthand Travel Experience Is Used

My travel experience is one of the foundations of GreenLink.

When I write about a place I have personally visited, I want readers to understand what I actually observed.

For example, if I stayed in a hotel and noticed that parking was convenient, I can describe my experience.

If I had difficulty with the Wi-Fi, I can describe that experience.

If the surrounding environment affected my stay, I can explain what I noticed.

But I should not turn one personal experience into a universal claim.

A hotel can change.

A road can change.

A service can improve or become unavailable.

A staff member can change.

Internet connectivity can vary.

Prices can change.

Therefore, firsthand experience should be presented as experience—not as a permanent guarantee.

Advertising on GreenLink

GreenLink may display advertisements supplied by advertising networks or directly by businesses.

Advertisements may appear in areas such as:

  • Website banners.
  • Sidebar spaces.
  • Header or footer areas.
  • In-content advertising spaces.
  • Other designated advertising locations.

Advertising is commercial content.

The presence of an advertisement does not automatically mean GreenLink personally recommends or guarantees the advertised product or service.

Readers should evaluate products and services according to their own needs.

Sponsored Content

GreenLink may publish sponsored content.

Sponsored content means that a business, organization or other party provides financial compensation or another commercial benefit in connection with the publication.

Examples may include:

  • Sponsored hotel features.
  • Tourism campaigns.
  • Destination features.
  • Hotel promotions.
  • Business profiles.
  • Sponsored travel guides.
  • Event coverage.
  • Promotional announcements.

Where content is sponsored, GreenLink aims to make the commercial nature of the content clear.

Sponsored content should not be deliberately presented as an ordinary independent article when doing so would mislead readers about its commercial nature.

Sponsored Content Does Not Create a Fake Experience

This is particularly important for GreenLink’s hotel and travel content.

If a hotel pays GreenLink to publish a promotional article, that does not mean I stayed there.

I will not intentionally write:

“I stayed at this hotel and enjoyed the experience”

if I did not actually stay there.

Instead, the article should accurately explain the basis of the information.

For example, if information comes from the hotel, it can be presented as information supplied by the hotel.

If I personally stayed there, I can explain my own experience.

The two situations should not be mixed.

Complimentary Hotel Stays

A hotel or tourism business may sometimes invite GreenLink for a complimentary stay or media visit.

If GreenLink accepts such an invitation, the accommodation was not personally paid for in the normal way by the publisher.

Where relevant to the content, GreenLink aims to disclose that the stay was complimentary or hosted.

A complimentary stay does not automatically mean that every aspect of the experience will be described positively.

If I experienced something that was inconvenient, I should be able to describe it accurately.

The purpose of disclosure is not to make the experience look better.

It is to give the reader context.

Press Trips and Media Invitations

GreenLink may receive invitations to:

  • Hotel openings.
  • Tourism events.
  • Destination events.
  • Cultural events.
  • Food events.
  • Travel conferences.
  • Hospitality events.
  • Other travel-related activities.

Attendance at an event does not automatically mean that GreenLink guarantees positive coverage.

The content produced from such an event should accurately describe the nature of the experience and the relationship involved.

Affiliate Links

GreenLink may participate in affiliate programmes.

An affiliate link is a link through which GreenLink may receive a commission if a reader completes a qualifying transaction or action.

Affiliate relationships may appear in articles involving:

  • Hotels.
  • Accommodation.
  • Travel services.
  • Travel products.
  • Booking resources.
  • Other relevant travel services.

Where an affiliate relationship applies, GreenLink aims to disclose it clearly.

An affiliate relationship does not mean that every linked product or service is personally used by Godwin.

Readers should distinguish between a useful booking resource and a firsthand recommendation.

Affiliate Links Do Not Change the Facts

If an article contains an affiliate link to a hotel booking platform, GreenLink should not claim that the hotel was personally visited unless that actually happened.

For example:

“You can check current availability through this booking service.”

is different from:

“I stayed at this hotel.”

The first is a booking-resource statement.

The second is a firsthand experience claim.

GreenLink aims to maintain that distinction.

Hotel Partnerships

GreenLink may work with hotels and other accommodation providers through:

  • Advertising.
  • Sponsored content.
  • Complimentary stays.
  • Media visits.
  • Affiliate programmes.
  • Promotional campaigns.
  • Business profiles.
  • Other mutually agreed partnerships.

A hotel partnership does not automatically mean that GreenLink endorses every aspect of the property.

Nor does it mean that the hotel controls every editorial opinion published about it.

Business-Provided Information

Hotels and other businesses may provide GreenLink with:

  • Room information.
  • Facility information.
  • Prices.
  • Contact details.
  • Promotional offers.
  • Photographs.
  • Opening dates.
  • Service descriptions.
  • Other business information.

Such information may be useful, but GreenLink aims to identify it appropriately when it is relevant to understanding where the information came from.

Business-provided information can also change.

Readers should confirm important details such as prices, availability, booking policies and operating hours before making a purchase or reservation.

Prices, Offers and Availability

Travel information can change quickly.

Hotel prices, room availability, promotions, discounts and booking policies may change after an article is published.

For that reason, readers should confirm current details before paying for accommodation or travel services.

When GreenLink mentions a price or promotional offer, it should not be interpreted as a permanent guarantee.

Before booking, check:

  • Current price.
  • Availability.
  • Applicable dates.
  • Taxes and additional charges.
  • Cancellation conditions.
  • Payment requirements.
  • Booking terms.

Reviews and Personal Opinions

When GreenLink publishes a personal review, the review should be clearly identifiable as a review or personal assessment.

A review based on firsthand experience should reflect the actual experience.

A sponsored article should not be made to look like a personal review simply because a business paid for publication.

This distinction is important because readers use reviews differently from advertisements.

Bing’s publisher guidance specifically emphasizes clear authorship, sourcing, accurate representation and clear labeling of commentary, opinion and reviews.

We Do Not Sell Positive Reviews

GreenLink does not intend to sell positive reviews.

A business may advertise with GreenLink and still receive a review that contains both positive and negative observations if those observations accurately reflect the experience.

Likewise, GreenLink does not intend to publish a negative statement about a business simply because the business declined to advertise.

Editorial content should be based on the available evidence, firsthand experience and clearly identified sources.

We Do Not Invent Travel Experiences

GreenLink’s credibility depends on accurately representing firsthand experience.

We will not intentionally claim that Godwin Samuel:

  • Stayed at a hotel he did not stay at.
  • Visited a destination he did not visit.
  • Ate at a restaurant he did not visit.
  • Personally tested a service he did not test.
  • Used a transport service he did not use.
  • Personally experienced something that was only described by another person.

When information comes from another source, the article should not falsely present it as firsthand experience.

Practical Example From My Travel Experience

When I travel to another state and need a hotel, I don’t only ask whether the hotel looks good online.

I think about what I will actually need after arriving.

Where will I park?

Is the surrounding environment comfortable?

Will I have water?

Can I get food when I need it?

Will my phone network work?

Is the Wi-Fi useful?

Is the room clean?

How convenient is the location for what I am visiting?

These are the kinds of practical questions that influence my own hotel decisions.

When I share similar observations on GreenLink, they come from the way I personally approach travel.

That does not make my experience universal.

Another traveler may have a different experience.

The purpose is to give readers useful context from someone who has actually traveled and stayed in hotels across different parts of Nigeria.

Our Approach to Commercial Hotel Content

When GreenLink works with a hotel commercially, we aim to create content that is still useful to travelers.

Depending on the arrangement, useful information may include:

  • Location.
  • Accommodation type.
  • Facilities.
  • Available services.
  • Who the property may be suitable for.
  • Practical travel considerations.
  • Booking information.
  • Important limitations.
  • Clearly identified promotional information.

The commercial nature of the relationship should not require GreenLink to fabricate firsthand experience.

Advertising Does Not Guarantee Search Rankings

A business that advertises on GreenLink should not expect a guaranteed:

  • Google ranking.
  • Bing ranking.
  • Search result position.
  • Featured snippet.
  • AI citation.
  • Search traffic level.
  • Number of bookings.
  • Number of leads.

Search engines use their own systems to determine how pages are crawled, indexed and displayed.

Advertising with GreenLink does not purchase a guaranteed search position.

Advertising Does Not Mean Google or Bing Endorsement

An advertisement, sponsorship or partnership with GreenLink does not mean that:

  • Google endorses the business.
  • Bing endorses the business.
  • The Nigerian government endorses the business.
  • A tourism authority certifies the business.
  • GreenLink guarantees the business’s services.

GreenLink is an independent publisher.

Our Approach to Search and AI Visibility

GreenLink aims to publish information that is useful to people first.

That means we focus on:

  • Original experiences.
  • Clear authorship.
  • Accurate information.
  • Practical details.
  • Appropriate sources.
  • Transparent commercial relationships.
  • Clear headings.
  • Useful explanations.
  • Updated information where necessary.

Bing’s current guidance for content appearing in AI-generated answers emphasizes aligning content with user intent, strengthening expertise and depth, improving clarity and structure, supporting claims with evidence, and keeping information fresh and accurate.

GreenLink therefore does not treat AI visibility as a reason to manufacture expertise or exaggerate firsthand experience.

Our Sources and Attribution

When an article depends on information beyond firsthand experience, GreenLink may use appropriate sources.

Depending on the subject, sources may include:

  • Government websites.
  • Official tourism organizations.
  • Official business websites.
  • Public records.
  • Direct statements from businesses.
  • Relevant organizations.
  • Other reliable sources.

Where a source materially supports an important factual claim, GreenLink aims to identify or link to the source where appropriate.

Bing’s publisher guidance specifically calls for sources for facts, quotes and opinions.

Original Photos and Travel Images

Where possible, GreenLink may use photographs taken during actual travel experiences.

When an image is supplied by a hotel, tourism organization, business or another party, GreenLink should not present it as a personal photograph if it was not personally taken by the publisher.

Image ownership and usage rights also matter.

GreenLink aims to use photographs and graphics that it has the right to publish.

Corrections and Updates

Travel information can become outdated.

If a reader identifies a factual error, outdated hotel information, incorrect business detail or another significant problem, we welcome corrections.

Please contact:

Email: info@greenlink.com.ng

For a correction request, please provide:

  1. The article title.
  2. The page URL.
  3. The statement you believe is incorrect.
  4. The corrected information.
  5. Supporting evidence where available.

GreenLink may review the information and update the article where the correction is supported.

Where appropriate, substantial updates may also be reflected through an updated date.

Reader Feedback

Readers may disagree with a GreenLink opinion or firsthand assessment.

That is acceptable.

A personal travel experience is not necessarily universal.

For example, I may find a hotel’s location convenient while another traveler considers the same location inconvenient.

I may have good Wi-Fi during my stay while another guest experiences an outage later.

That is why GreenLink aims to distinguish personal observations from objective facts and avoid presenting individual experiences as universal guarantees.

Commercial Relationships and Editorial Independence

GreenLink aims to maintain editorial independence from commercial partners.

A partner may provide information about its business, but that does not automatically give the partner the right to rewrite a genuine firsthand experience.

Similarly, GreenLink should not knowingly publish a false negative statement about a business because it is not a commercial partner.

The objective is accuracy and fairness.

What Readers Should Check Before Booking

GreenLink provides travel information, but readers should make their own final decisions.

Before booking a hotel or travel service, check the latest information directly with the provider where appropriate.

Pay particular attention to:

  • Current prices.
  • Availability.
  • Cancellation policies.
  • Check-in and check-out requirements.
  • Additional fees.
  • Location.
  • Transport arrangements.
  • Current facilities.
  • Safety considerations relevant to your journey.
  • Any restrictions that apply to your booking.

A GreenLink article is a source of information, not a substitute for checking current booking conditions.

What Partners Can Expect From GreenLink

Businesses that work with GreenLink can expect us to:

  • Represent supplied information accurately.
  • Identify commercial relationships where appropriate.
  • Avoid deliberately fabricating experiences.
  • Consider factual corrections.
  • Communicate clearly about commercial arrangements.
  • Keep promotional content relevant to the site’s audience.

Commercial partners should also understand that paying for advertising does not automatically purchase editorial praise.

Partnership Opportunities

GreenLink may consider partnerships with businesses and organizations relevant to travel and discovery in Nigeria.

Potential partnerships may include:

  • Hotel advertising.
  • Tourism campaigns.
  • Destination promotion.
  • Sponsored guides.
  • Travel-related business profiles.
  • Hotel media visits.
  • Tourism events.
  • Affiliate partnerships.
  • Sponsored travel content.
  • Other relevant collaborations.

A Personal Note From Godwin Samuel

I did not start traveling because I wanted to become an online reviewer.

I started because I wanted to see Nigeria for myself.

I wanted to experience different environments, meet people from different backgrounds, learn about cultures, taste different foods, hear different languages and understand how people live in places outside the environment where I grew up.

Over time, those journeys taught me that travel information is often most useful when it answers ordinary practical questions.

Where can I stay?

What should I expect?

What should I check before paying?

Is the location convenient for my purpose?

What should I look out for when I arrive?

Those are the kinds of questions I want GreenLink to help answer.

At the same time, I understand that a website needs money to operate.

Advertising and partnerships can help GreenLink continue publishing.

I don’t see a problem with earning money from useful publishing.

The important thing is being honest about the relationship.

If I stayed somewhere, I should say that truthfully.

If I didn’t stay there, I should not pretend that I did.

If a business paid for an article, readers should be able to understand that.

If a link can generate a commission, that relationship should be disclosed appropriately.

My goal is to build GreenLink into a useful Nigerian travel publication without sacrificing the trust that makes the publication valuable in the first place.
