GreenLink.com.ng — Discovering Nigeria Through Travel, Experience and Real Stories
Welcome to GreenLink.com.ng.
GreenLink is a Nigerian travel and discovery platform created to help people explore Nigeria through practical travel information, firsthand experiences, destination stories, hotel experiences, Nigerian culture, food and useful lessons from the road.
GreenLink was built from a simple personal interest: I wanted to see more of Nigeria for myself.
My name is Godwin Samuel, and I am the founder and travel publisher behind GreenLink.com.ng.
I am from Bayelsa State, Nigeria, with roots in Nembe Local Government Area, including Okoroma and Sangakubu. I currently live in Bayelsa State.
I am also a businessman and sell pizza, but traveling has become one of my strongest personal interests.
For me, travel is not simply about visiting famous places.
It is about leaving the environment I already know, meeting people from different backgrounds, seeing how other communities live, tasting different foods, learning languages and customs, experiencing different environments and returning home with something new to share.
That experience is the foundation of GreenLink.
How GreenLink Started
My interest in traveling began when I was young.
When I was around 18, I decided that I wanted to start traveling around Nigeria.
My mother was not comfortable with the idea of me traveling alone. I understood why she was concerned, but I had already made up my mind that I wanted to see more of the country.
I wanted to explore Nigeria.
I wanted to learn from different people.
I wanted to understand different cultures.
I wanted to make friends with people from different parts of the country.
And I wanted to experience life outside the environment where I grew up.
One of my early important trips was to Imo State.
Traveling there gave me a feeling I had not experienced before.
I realized that reading about another state is different from actually going there.
When you travel, you notice things that are difficult to understand from a distance.
You see the environment.
You hear the language.
You taste the food.
You observe how people interact.
You see how businesses operate.
You notice differences in roads, buildings, transportation and everyday life.
You meet people who grew up with experiences different from yours.
That first experience helped turn traveling from an interest into a hobby and eventually into an important part of my life.
Why I Travel
I travel because I want to explore Nigeria and learn from the people and places I encounter.
There are many things I enjoy about traveling.
I enjoy the views.
I enjoy the change of environment.
I enjoy meeting people who do not know my background and getting to interact with them naturally.
I enjoy discovering food, culture and languages.
I enjoy finding opportunities that I might never have discovered if I stayed in one place.
Most importantly, I enjoy learning.
Sometimes a journey teaches me something about a place.
Sometimes it teaches me something about people.
Sometimes it teaches me something about myself.
And sometimes the biggest lesson comes from something that went wrong.
That is one of the reasons I believe travel stories should not only show the perfect side of a journey.
The practical problems are also part of the experience.
Traveling Around Nigeria
My travels have taken me to many parts of Nigeria.
Among the states and locations I have visited are:
- Bayelsa State
- Delta State
- Imo State
- Abia State
- Lagos State
- Abuja / Federal Capital Territory
- Rivers State
- Anambra State
- Edo State
- Kogi State
- Oyo State
- Sokoto State
- Akwa Ibom State
- Ogun State
- Enugu State
- Plateau State
- Bauchi State
- Yobe State
- Kwara State
My travel experience includes road journeys, hotel stays, different environments, food experiences, conversations with people and exploring places that were new to me.
I do not describe this list as proof that I know everything about these states.
Visiting a state does not make me an expert on every town, community, business or attraction within it.
Instead, these journeys provide firsthand experiences that I can use when writing about the things I have actually experienced.
Where I have not personally experienced something, I do not want to create the impression that I have.
That distinction is important to GreenLink.
What Traveling Has Taught Me
Travel has changed the way I understand Nigeria.
Before traveling, it is easy to form an idea of a place from what other people say.
After visiting different places, you begin to realize that the reality can be much more complicated.
Two states can have completely different environments.
Two cities can have different rhythms of life.
Two hotels with similar photographs can provide very different experiences.
Two journeys to the same destination can also be different depending on the road, timing, weather, transportation and other circumstances.
This is why I try to focus on practical details when I write.
A traveler does not only want to know that a destination is beautiful.
They may also want to know:
How do I get there?
Where can I stay?
What should I check before booking?
What should I prepare for?
What did another traveler actually experience?
Those are the kinds of questions GreenLink aims to help answer.
Our Hotel Experience
Hotels have become an important part of my travel experience because accommodation can affect the entire journey.
I have personally experienced hotels in several parts of Nigeria, including Bayelsa, Abuja, Lagos, Rivers, Anambra, Edo, Akwa Ibom and Delta State.
Some of the hotels I have experienced include:
- Best Western Plus at the Oxbow Lake — Bayelsa State
- Matho Crystal Hotel — Bayelsa State
- Monalisa Hotel & Suites — Bayelsa State
- King George’s Court — Bayelsa State
- Ayalla Hotels — Bayelsa State
- Transcorp Hilton Abuja
- Fraser Suites Abuja
- The Envoy Hotel Abuja
- Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Abuja
- Lagos Continental Hotel
- Legend Hotel Lagos Airport, Curio Collection by Hilton
- Radisson Blu Hotel Lagos Ikeja
- Mövenpick Hotel Ikoyi Lagos
- Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, Lagos
- Charleson Luxury Hotel — Rivers State
- Heliconia Park Port Harcourt Hotel and Suites
- Hotel Presidential — Rivers State
- De Santos Hotel — Anambra State
- Fervex Palace Hotel & Suites — Anambra State
- Protea Hotel by Marriott Benin City — Edo State
- Rivona Hotel & Suites — Akwa Ibom State
- Monty Suites & Golf — Akwa Ibom State
- Hotel Lahana Uyo — Akwa Ibom State
- Swisse International Rancho Valeria — Delta State
- Asato Classic Hotel — Delta State
- Protea Hotel — Delta State
- Clique Court Hotel & Suite — Delta State
- Golden Tulip Hotel — Delta State
This list is provided to show part of my personal travel and accommodation experience.
It should not be interpreted as a current ranking of these hotels or as a statement that every traveler will have the same experience.
Hotel conditions, facilities, prices, management, policies and services can change.
What I Look For in a Hotel
My experience staying in different hotels has taught me to look beyond photographs.
When I arrive at a hotel, I pay attention to practical things.
Cleanliness
I want to see whether the room and surrounding environment are properly maintained.
Parking
If I am traveling by car, parking is important.
I want to know whether there is a practical place to park and whether the arrangement is suitable for the type of trip I am taking.
Vehicle safety
Parking is not only about having somewhere to leave a vehicle.
I also pay attention to the general parking environment and how comfortable I feel leaving a vehicle there.
Water
Water availability is one of the practical issues I consider when staying in a hotel.
Electricity
Power availability can affect everything from comfort to charging devices and working online.
Network and Wi-Fi
For travelers who need to communicate or work online, internet access can be extremely important.
I therefore pay attention to mobile network availability and hotel Wi-Fi where applicable.
Food
I also consider food because travelers need convenient access to meals, particularly when arriving late or staying for several days.
General environment
I observe the surroundings, noise, cleanliness, accessibility and general atmosphere.
These details may sound simple, but they can have a major effect on a traveler’s experience.
Why We Don’t Simply Call a Hotel “The Best”
One of the lessons I have learned from staying in different hotels is that the right hotel depends on the traveler.
A business traveler may prioritize Wi-Fi and location.
A family may prioritize parking, room space and water.
A traveler on a budget may focus on cost and practical value.
Someone arriving late may care more about accessibility and convenience.
Therefore, GreenLink aims to explain the factors travelers should consider rather than making unsupported universal claims about which hotel is “the best.”
When I share a hotel experience, I want readers to understand what I personally observed.
My experience is useful evidence of my own stay.
It is not automatically evidence of what every guest will experience.
Firsthand Experience and Research
One of the most important principles behind GreenLink is the distinction between experience and research.
If I personally visit a destination, I can describe my observations.
If I personally stay at a hotel, I can describe what I experienced during that stay.
But I should not claim to have visited somewhere simply because I found information about it online.
When a GreenLink article covers a place I have not personally visited, the article should be based on research and appropriate sources rather than pretending that the information is firsthand.
Likewise, if an older personal experience is being used, current details such as prices, opening hours, facilities or policies may need separate verification.
This distinction helps readers understand what they are reading.
How We Create GreenLink Content
GreenLink content can be created from several forms of information.
Firsthand travel experience
When I have personally experienced a destination, hotel, journey or activity, that experience can provide the foundation for the article.
Research
Some subjects require information beyond personal experience.
For example, current travel requirements, official rules, prices, transportation schedules or other changing information may need to be checked using appropriate sources.
Practical interpretation
Research alone is not always enough.
A useful travel article should explain how information affects a real traveler.
For example, knowing that a hotel has Wi-Fi is useful.
Explaining why internet access matters to someone traveling for work makes that information more practical.
Our goal is to connect information with real travel decisions.
How We Handle Changing Information
Travel information does not remain the same forever.
Hotel prices can change.
Hotel facilities can change.
Businesses can change their opening hours.
Road conditions can change.
Transportation arrangements can change.
Government requirements can change.
Security conditions can change.
Because of this, GreenLink does not want old information to be presented as though it is permanently current.
Where information is time-sensitive, we aim to identify its date or review it when an update is needed.
Readers should also confirm important current details directly with the relevant business or official source before making significant travel arrangements.
Road Travel: Lessons From My Experience
A large part of my travel experience has involved road journeys.
Road travel has given me some of my most memorable experiences in Nigeria.
It has also shown me why preparation matters.
I have experienced difficult roads, delays and situations that made some journeys uncomfortable.
I have also encountered concerns around checkpoints and interactions with officers.
These experiences are part of my personal travel story.
However, I do not treat one personal experience as proof of what happens everywhere in Nigeria.
If I describe something that happened to me, I will present it as my experience.
Broader claims about current security, crime or official conduct should be supported by current and appropriate evidence.
That distinction matters because travelers deserve information that is useful without exaggeration.
Practical Lessons I Take Before a Journey
Before a long journey, I think about more than the destination.
I consider:
- The route
- Transportation
- Accommodation
- Timing
- Food
- Water
- Mobile network
- Internet access
- Vehicle condition
- Money for unexpected expenses
- Possible delays
- Alternative plans
Travel has taught me that even a well-planned journey can change.
Having a backup plan can make a significant difference.
Sometimes the lesson comes before the journey.
Sometimes it comes during the journey.
Sometimes you only understand it after returning home.
GreenLink is a place where I can share those lessons with other travelers.

Our goal is to explain Nigerian travel in a practical way that is understandable to people who may have different levels of experience.
Our Editorial Standards
GreenLink is built around several editorial principles.
We identify the author
Articles written by me should identify Godwin Samuel as the author.
Where other contributors are involved, they should be identified appropriately.
We don’t manufacture firsthand experience
We will not claim that someone visited a destination or stayed at a hotel when they did not.
We distinguish experience from research
Readers should be able to understand whether information comes from firsthand experience, research or an identified external source.
We use sources when they are needed
Facts that require external verification should be supported by appropriate sources.
We avoid unsupported superlatives
We avoid presenting a hotel, destination or service as “the best,” “the safest” or “number one” without a legitimate basis.
We update information when necessary
Important changing information should be reviewed when circumstances change or an error is identified.
We correct mistakes
If we confirm that GreenLink has published incorrect information, we aim to correct it.
We write for people first
The purpose of an article is to help the reader.
Search engines are important for discovery, but the reader comes first.
Corrections and Feedback
Nobody gets everything right all the time.
Travel information can change, and mistakes can happen.
If you find information on GreenLink that appears incorrect, outdated or misleading, please contact us through the GreenLink Contact Us page.
When reporting a correction, please provide:
- The article URL.
- The information you believe is incorrect.
- The corrected information, if you have reliable evidence.
- A source or explanation that can help us review the issue.
We will review the information and make a correction when appropriate.
Sponsored Content, Advertising and Commercial Relationships
GreenLink may eventually work with hotels, tourism businesses, travel companies, advertisers or other commercial partners.
A commercial relationship should not be presented as though it were independent firsthand experience.
If GreenLink publishes sponsored or paid content, it should be clearly identified as such.
If a business provides a complimentary service, accommodation, meal, event invitation or another benefit in exchange for coverage, that relationship should be disclosed where relevant.
Commercial relationships should not change the factual description of a firsthand experience.
A paid placement should not be presented as an independent recommendation simply because a business paid for visibility.
This distinction is important because readers deserve to understand the relationship behind commercial content.
Our Approach to Hotel Reviews and Experiences
GreenLink hotel content may include different types of articles.
Firsthand hotel experience
An article based on a hotel I personally experienced.
Hotel guide
A practical article explaining what travelers should consider when choosing accommodation.
Hotel information
Research-based information about a property where I have not personally stayed.
Sponsored or commercial content
Content created as part of a disclosed commercial relationship.
These categories should not be confused with one another.
If I personally stayed at a hotel, that is my experience.
If I have not stayed there, I should not write as though I did.
Our Approach to Travel Safety
Travel safety is important, but safety information must be handled carefully.
Conditions can change quickly.
A personal experience from one journey cannot automatically represent an entire state or country.
For current safety information, travelers should consult appropriate official and current sources, especially before making significant travel decisions.
GreenLink can share practical lessons from personal travel, but we do not want to create a false impression of certainty about situations that can change.
Who Is Behind GreenLink?
GreenLink.com.ng is founded and published by Godwin Samuel, a Nigerian travel publisher and businessman from Bayelsa State.
I am from Nembe Local Government Area, including Okoroma and Sangakubu.
Outside GreenLink, I am a businessman and sell pizza.
My business experience has also influenced how I think about service.
Customers notice details.
They notice whether a business keeps its promises.
They remember how they are treated.
They remember when something goes wrong and how the business responds.
I apply those same principles to publishing.
If GreenLink tells a reader something, there should be a reason for saying it.
If the information comes from my experience, I want that to be clear.
If it comes from research, it should be treated as research.
If information changes, it should be reviewed.
If we make a mistake, we should correct it.
My Journey Into Blogging
My interest in blogging and online publishing began around 2016, after I was introduced to blogging by Victor Aaron.
Over time, I became more interested in publishing useful information online.
As my interest in travel grew, I wanted a place where I could combine travel experiences with practical information about Nigeria.
That became part of the motivation behind GreenLink.
The idea is simple:
Explore Nigeria. Learn from the experience. Share what is useful.
Our Vision for GreenLink
Our vision is to develop GreenLink.com.ng into a useful Nigerian travel and discovery platform.
We want people to be able to come here when they are:
- Planning a trip.
- Looking for accommodation.
- Exploring another Nigerian state.
- Learning about Nigerian culture.
- Looking for practical travel advice.
- Reading firsthand travel stories.
- Trying to understand what to consider before a journey.
We also want to continue documenting Nigeria from the perspective of people who actually experience it.
Nigeria is too large and diverse to understand from one location.
There are still places I have not visited.
There are communities I have not met.
There are foods I have not tasted.
There are roads I have not traveled.
There are hotels I have not experienced.
There are stories I have not heard.
That means GreenLink is still a journey.
What Makes GreenLink Different
We are not trying to create the impression that we have personally experienced everything in Nigeria.
Instead, we want to build trust through transparency.
When we have firsthand experience, we use it.
When research is needed, we research.
When a source is important, we identify it.
When something is uncertain, we should say so.
When information becomes outdated, we should update it.
When we make a mistake, we should correct it.
We believe that this approach is more valuable than making an article sound authoritative through exaggerated claims.
A Message From Godwin Samuel
I created GreenLink because I wanted to explore Nigeria and share what I learn.
When I travel, I don’t only think about the destination.
I think about the journey.
I think about the people I meet.
I think about the food.
I think about the hotel.
I think about what surprised me.
I think about what went wrong.
I think about what I would do differently next time.
And I think about what another traveler could learn from the experience.
That is the type of information I want GreenLink to provide.
I am still learning.
I am still traveling.
I am still discovering.
And I don’t want to pretend otherwise.
The more places I visit, the more I realize how much there is still to discover.
Our Promise to Readers
When you read GreenLink, our goal is for you to understand not only what we are telling you, but also where that information comes from.
If it is my personal experience, we should make that clear.
If it is researched information, we should treat it as such.
If information is likely to change, we should encourage appropriate verification.
If we make a mistake, we should correct it.
If a commercial relationship exists, it should be disclosed appropriately.
And above all, we want the content to be useful to the person reading it.
Welcome to GreenLink
GreenLink began with curiosity.
The curiosity to leave home.
The curiosity to see another state.
The curiosity to meet different people.
The curiosity to taste different food.
The curiosity to understand different cultures.
And the curiosity to discover what Nigeria looks like beyond the place we already know.
That curiosity is still there.
I am still traveling.
I am still learning.
I am still meeting people.
And I am still discovering Nigeria.
GreenLink.com.ng is where I share that journey.
Welcome to GreenLink.
Explore. Learn. Discover Nigeria.
